10 Easy Ways to Increase Website Traffic

For every entrepreneur out there, more traffic means more conversions, which in turn equals more revenue and business growth. If you’re looking to get more people to visit your website but aren’t sure where to start, we’ve got you covered with this guide on how to increase website traffic.

Follow these 10 tips and watch your website grow:

  1. Optimize individual web pages to be more relevant to specific keyword sets

  2. Update & add new blog content regularly

  3. Share your new content to your social media platforms

  4. Email your subscribers when new content is available

  5. List your website & business information on directory listing sites

  6. Use Pay-Per-Click advertising

  7. Create referral incentives for customers

  8. Work with influencers to have them help advertise

  9. Write guest posts that link back to your website

  10. Share content to social media community groups

1. Optimize individual web pages to be more relevant to specific keyword sets

When you’re targeting individual pages on your website, you can focus on a specific keyword set that aligns with each page. That way, Google knows which keywords are associated with each individual web page and can provide targeted traffic. For example, if you run a bed and breakfast in Long Beach Island New Jersey , your home page might be more relevant for searches like bed and breakfast in NJ while your Guest Reviews web page might be more relevant for searches like NJ Bed and Breakfast Reviews. Another example would be for a web designer. Instead of trying to bloat every page with the word web designer, we'll create 1 specific page to showcase everything related to Web Design.

2. Update & add new blog content regularly

People need new content. The more frequently you add new content, the more often your visitors will come back for a visit. You could have an amazing site with great information, but if no one is checking it out then it won’t do much good. Don’t waste time: update and add new content regularly. Be interesting: Try not to be boring! People will love your content if you make it fun or give them advice they can use right away in their life or business. This will also help people come back again and again because they always get something new from your posts. Make sure that everything on your site is top quality: This means making sure everything you write is spell-checked and free of grammatical errors before posting!

3. Share your new content to your social media platforms

Creating new content is great, but we still need to get the word out of your new content. One super simple way to do this is to simply share your new content links to your social media platforms. This can be done manually or even automatically using an integration between your content management system and your social media platforms. There are also standalone tools that allow you to connect all of your social media accounts together, meaning you can create one new post and it will sync that post across all of your accounts.

4. Email your subscribers when new content is available

While it may sound obvious, updating your website frequently is another great way to attract and retain traffic. If you send an email every time you publish new content, your readers will know when they should check back for something interesting. Some people call email subscribers their warm audience. Having a warm audience means people are more likely to engage with your content as soon as it comes out, as opposed to only visiting your site when they have time or a general interest in your topic. After all, if you've promised them something interesting in an email, they're going to expect it when they visit! This can be one of the easiest ways of increasing traffic to a website - once someone becomes an email subscriber of yours, there's a good chance they'll keep coming back regularly.

5. List your website & business information on directory listing sites

Having your business information listed in major directory listing sites is a good first step towards increasing website traffic. Information like physical address, phone number, email contact info and business hours can help potential customers find you online. The more visible you are on directory listing sites (and search engines), the more chances there are for new clients to discover your business—resulting in higher website traffic for your business. Here’s how to get started: Contact your local chamber of commerce and ask about their membership plans; most offer free or low-cost listings on their website as part of their membership. Research directory listing sites related to your industry, such as Yelp if you own a restaurant or Google Local if you run an accounting firm. Reach out to these directory listing sites via their website or email and request a profile be created with specific details related to your business.

6. Use Pay-Per-Click advertising

Pay-per-click (PPC) advertising is a great way to get traffic quickly. When people use search engines, they’re often looking for things like: best earbuds under $50, or nightclubs in New York City. With PPC, you pay when someone clicks on your ad and arrives at your website. If you bid a little higher than competitors you could show up at the top of search results and start receiving traffic right away without much effort. This form of advertising can be expensive, so it is very important not just to throw money into these platforms - always make sure you're getting positive ROI before increasing spending levels! It's also smart to create unique campaigns targeting unique audiences - don't just try copying other successful companies by trying to reach as many people as possible!

7. Create referral incentives for customers

For businesses that rely on a steady stream of website traffic, you can’t beat referrals. Wix's survey of over 13,000 online businesses found that 84% get most of their new customers from referrals and recommendations. To encourage customers to refer your business, offer a special refer-a-friend discount or provide other incentives for sharing your site with others. The goal is not only to increase traffic but also to build deeper relationships with your audience. This helps you establish your brand and communicate about upcoming events, promotions, contests and more. In turn, these tactics help create a positive reputation—which translates into more trust among prospects in general.

8. Work with influencers to have them help advertise

Another way to increase your site’s visibility is by partnering with people who already have a big following. Some businesses hire influencers as employees, while others work with them on a freelance basis. Either way, influencers can help attract new visitors and push brand awareness if they agree to mention your business in one of their posts or videos. This tactic typically works best when brands offer influencers free products in exchange for mentions, although that may not always be possible if you’re just starting out. Another option is to offer a unique discount code or product giveaway in exchange for getting an influencer’s audience interested in visiting your website.

9. Write guest posts that link back to your website

Getting your content on authoritative websites can help improve your website traffic exponentially. It's a lot easier than you might think: All you have to do is write guest posts for high-authority websites in your niche, and then make sure that each post contains an extra resource that links back to one of your best pages. When people click on these links from other sites, they will be directed back to you—which can then boost your domain authority as well as build up trust with potential customers. That's why guest posting is one of our go-to strategies for earning links back to our site with little effort on our part.

10. Share content to social media community groups

If you can find community groups on social media related to your website, you can join these communities and with permission, create or share posts that link back to your website. This is a manual process for a free version of social media marketing. The idea is to share your content with as many people as possible being that it is free and community groups on social media platforms let you do just that.
